Recently I’ve been fortunate enough to receiving training on a reading intervention called Wired for Reading®. As a special education teacher serving students in a pullout/push-in support model, I witness the daily struggles of students who find reading a challenge. Dyslexia tends to be the blanket term we refer to when describing students with severe reading problems. But regardless of what we call it, when students struggle with reading, they struggle with nearly everything in school, which can render severe impacts later on in life.

Today I gave my first two Wired for Reading® lessons and I testify wholeheartedly that I am very excited for what this intervention holds in store. I serve twenty-six students, and about 80% of them struggle with reading fluency, perhaps caused by dyslexia or some other processing disorder. Stay tuned for what next few weeks holds in store for these students. I’m excited to share the results! In the meantime, check out Wired for Reading® for yourself.
